Discover the South Island

With our event starting off in what is known as the capital of Southland, Invercargill proves to boast a massive range of things to do, from the Bill Richardson Transport World to local museums and art galleries, it just goes to show that there’s something for everyone!

Of course, our event kicks off in Invercargill at the Bill Richardson Transport World on Monday, 22nd October 2018 with Documentation and Driver’s Briefing taking place there.

Later that evening, our annual Legend’s of Targa Dinner will be held there, and you’re invited!
Included in your entry fee are two tickets to this event, and taking place in Bill’s Shed, it’ll prove to be a fantastic night for all!
Of course, the option is also available for any of your service crew, friends or family to come along to the dinner at $75 per person.

Ascot Hotel – Buffet Dinner

On Tuesday 23rd October, we visit the Ascot Hotel for an extensive buffer dinner – a great place to sit down and unwind from the first day of Targa NZ 2018! This is of course optional, and dinner tickets are $55 per person.

Speights Ale House Tour & Dinner

A couple of evenings later on Thursday, 25th October, a few of us will be attending the Speights Ale House Tour in Dunedin. Here you can learn about the antiquity of beer in Babylonian times, through to the introduction of beer in New Zealand, and then the history of the Speights Brewery. Of course, there will be an opportunity to sample this fine product in their brand new tasting room.
From here, we will then call in to the Speight’s Ale House where we will be treated to a fantastic two course dinner.

The Tour kicks off from 6.30pm, and will take approx 90 minutes, including a tasting session. Dinner will be from 8pm onwards. Tickets are $70 per person.

Walter Peak Gourmet BBQ Dinner

On Friday, 26th October, we invite you to join us for a Walter Peak Gourmet BBQ Dinner.

Your trip starts with a cruise aboard the historic TSS Earnslaw across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak High Country Farm. Once there, you can sit back on the lakeside terrace of the Colonel’s Homestead Restaurant and savour the delicious aromas as our chef has the best of local produce, sizzling away on the grill.

After your dinner, you can join an entertaining farm demonstration or explore the beautiful lakeside gardens, before boarding the TSS Earnslaw again for a gentle cruise back to town.

On the magical night-time cruise home, you can enjoy the camaraderie of a sing-a-long with the ship’s pianist or breathe in the fresh night air on the moonlit decks as you watch the lights of Queenstown draw nearer.

7.45pm: Board TSS Earnslaw, Steamer Wharf
8.00pm: Depart Queenstown
8.45pm: Arrive Walter Peak
8.50pm: Gourmet BBQ Dinner
10.30pm: Sheep Shearing & Working Dog Demonstration
11.15pm: Depart Walter Peak on TSS Earnslaw
12.00am: Arrive Queenstown

Prize-giving Breakfast – Coronet Peak

We then conclude the event with a Prize-giving breakfast at Coronet Peak on Sunday, 28th October. With the doors opening at 8am, and breakfast served at 8.30am, you will not want to miss the simply stunning views from over 1200 metres above sea level.

Of course, two tickets are included with your entry, however all are welcome. Book your extra seats now, as we have limited capacity and it’s on a first in, first serve basis.
