Hi Entrants – Last brief Newsletter before we meet in Invercargill, 11am on Monday 22nd October.
- Updated Scrutineering & Documentation Checklist – Attached.
Please note update to Scrutineering Car Safety #6 “Battery securely mounted to vehicle with positive/negative terminal covers”
Available from an auto-electrician or Supercheap (Part #BT 18/20/23 R or B). Cheap & easy to fit.
- Entrant Phone List – Attached.
Please check & advise me asap of any corrections required.
- Recovery Vehicles.
Recovery 1, Toyota Hilux with rear canopy driven by Bob Holmes, will follow our VCC cars on Touring stages & through each Special Stage to provide assistance if required.
In addition, & thanks to VCC entrant Grant Ford, his son-in-law Tristan Clark will follow the event in a Ford Ranger towing their car transport trailer as Recovery 2.
Trailers are not permitted through Special Stages, but Tristan will meet us at lunch service stops etc, & may be called on to rescue a vehicle if required.
Hopefully this will enable Bob to continue following us through each stage.
The Ford Ranger also has a rear canopy to assist with daily transport of clothes bags etc for those entrants with limited storage space in their cars.
- Event Publicity, Latest Beaded Wheels & NZ Classic Car.
Great publicity for VCC & our event, including brilliant photos of Ken & Jill Muir with their stunning MG TF1500 in today’s Southland Express, also available to read on-line.
Latest Beaded Wheels & NZ Classic Car both have articles re our inaugural VCC time trial, with NZ Classic Car having extensive coverage of all South Island Targa 2018.
The five Central Otago VCC cars & crew entering our time trial are also booked to be photographed on Lake Wanaka waterfront next Tuesday morning, to promote VCC & all Targa cars passing through Wanaka Saturday afternoon, 27th October.
Please use any opportunity for publicity in your local area to promote VCC & this event.
Anything Else?
Hopefully we’re all now prepared & good to go!!
As always however, any queries please call me.
Look forward to catching up with everyone in Invercargill.
Regards,
Rod Corbett.
